Today is the Earth Day
Today is the Earth Day of 2005. Sarah and I had our lunch in downtown. Both of us are pretty busy with our thesis, though she is always faster than me. "I eat faster than everyone." She always said that. Actually she did everything fast: going to graduate school, getting married, etc. She is a fast person in life. A Sonic.
The weather of today is really bad. Sarah picked a "good" day for outside lunch. It is said that it might snow this weekend. Anyway, weather is becoming more and more abnormal, for which I don't know why. Obviously both of us don't like the weather like today, so right after lunch she went back to her office, and I went back to the library and started using this computer to search some info about the Earth Day.
There is an article telling us how we can make our earth better via five ways through the web site of the World Widelife Fund (WWF):
1. Take Action - Many of want to make a difference. WWF's Conservation Action Network allows you to do just that. Stand up and make your voice be heard; grassroots efforts can be even more effective than big money politics.
2. Adopt a Panda - This year marks the 25th anniversary of WWF's panda work in China. Tell the world how important our work is by adopting a panda -- for yourself or a friend!
3. Think (and Act) Green - Keep the environment in mind when shopping and gardening, around the house and in your world.
4. Send an eCard - Be a voice for change. Get your friends involved and wish them a happy earth day!
5. Join WWF - World Wildlife Fund is working around the world to save endangered species, preserve wild places and address global challenges. You can help us save a living planet.
Does these ways work? To me, they are more like advertisments for the WWF network rather than protecting our world itself.
